Ginkakuji – Jishoin actually say that Silver Pavilion. considered by some as a unique masterpiece of sites, while others believe it is over valued. About what can not be discusióî is its importance in Japanese culture, and that its walls were refined tea ceremony, Noh, flower arranging and painting with ink.

The temple was the mountain retreat of Shogun Yoshimasa, proposed an artistic renaissance known as Higahsiyama culture. In honor of his grandfather, Kinkaku-ji covered with gold leaf, Yoshimasa wanted their flag silver coating. but the ruinous Onin War prevented him from doing so.
