5.Boston Light, Massachusetts
Located on Little Brewster Island in Boston Harbor, is located the beacon, illuminating the water since 1716. Also witnessed the American Revolution, since it was occupied by the British Army and this attacked by American forces, achieving surrender.
6.Charleston Light, South Carolina

7.Faro of Alexandria, Egypt
One of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. The legendary Pharos lighthouse was built in 200 BC on the island of Pharos, being the tallest structure in the world (even being compared with existing structures) with its 492 feet tall. It is said that the tower contained numerous statues (including one of Neptune and Triton four) and a church on top of the building. Unfortunately, the building disappeared after a long series of earthquakes in the fourteenth century. (Note: There are no photographs of the lighthouse of Alexandria, but the Chinese were responsible for making a replica of what might have been the same, as shown in the picture above).
8.Torre Marine Yokohama, Japan
In 1961, the lighthouse tower was the highest in the world, with 324 feet. He was subsequently closed for reform, and was recently reopened in May of this year, the 150th anniversary of Yokohama. Since the Japanese do not want to spend time and energy to make just a lighthouse, are included within the same structure as a restaurant, an observatory, a bar and a gift shop.
9.Faro Romano, Dover Castle, England
With a structure 80 feet tall, this lighthouse is considered the oldest in England. Built under the command of Emperor Claudius (AD 46 years), this tower is located next to St Mary’s Church-in-Castro, set part of Dover Castle. The reasons for this lighthouse was built are points of controversy, as many researchers argue that, besides being used to guide ships, it also served to launch smoke alarm mode.
