Yomatsuri Chichibu: Festival of The Japanese

One of the biggest festivals in Japan is the Chichibu Yomatsuri held every year in December in the small town of Chichibu, near Tokyo.

This is a spectacular evening event whose history dates back over 300 years and performed in honor of the six kami (deities) protect the city, each represented in one of the floats. And is that the floats are the main protagonists of this wonderful show that walks the streets of the city, decorated with the most diverse decor addition to the classic red lanterns.

The magnificent illuminated carts circulate among the crowd mesmerized observer of the movement of vehicles reaching 10 feet high at least, decorated with painted sculptures and flowers. Roll by dozens of enthusiastic young people dressed in festive costumes, the floats that weigh about 10 tons each, are directed toward the Chichibu shrine in the parade in the afternoon, at approximately 19:00.

The festival this year (yomatsuri), will be held from 2 to 3 December and is expected to draw thousands of tourists from around the world who visit Japan and the Japanese themselves arrived from other cities.
